The Federal Government of Nigeria has been trying to Make Nigeria self sufficient in food and agricultural production. Efforts such as "Operation Feed the Nation", "Green Revolution", etc, have yielded very little positive result.
The reason for such limited success is that the fundamental problem of poor mechanization was never appropriately addressed in these laudable efforts. The average Nigerian farmer subsists on a small acreage of land to which he is restricted by the hoe and cutlass available to him. Thus his productivity remains far below the optimum.

Given the above, our focus must shift to mechanizing the small and medium scale farms, which have remained consistent in sustaining agricultural production. In doing this, emphasis must be on appropriateness and affordabilitiy of equipment.

The past efforts which focused on large capacity tractors and implements as used in Europe and America have not been very successful in assisting the small and medium scale farmers. This is because the large tractors are neither appropriate nor affordable to them.

Agro Nigerian Ventures Limited was incorporated on July 30, 1987 as a private limited liability company diversified into agricultural equipment importation, distribution, hiring and agric contract services.

Experience and studies have shown that adequate mechanization will help drive our country to a self-sufficiency level in food production and also stimulate production for industries and export. Agro Nigerian Ventures Limited offers an approach to provide appropriate and affordable mechanization for all levels of farming – small, medium, and large.

To be Nigeria’s leader in the mechanization of agriculture at all levels thereby providing affordable machinery to increase our agricultural production. This becomes an avenue for employment for a large portion of our population in the field of agriculture, engineering, and marketing.

Agro Nigeria Ventures Limited will be the leading player in transforming Nigeria’s agriculture from the “hoe and cutlass” system into a fully mechanized agricultural system. We will assemble appropriate and affordable equipment for farm operations particularly those at the small and medium scale levels.
